Access & Comfort
We want everyone to feel comfortable, welcome, and able to enjoy the weekend in a way that works for them.

Riverwood Downs is a large, natural property with plenty of open space. Most paths between accommodation and event areas are dirt or grass rather than paved.
All main buildings, including the reception venue, have ramp access. The ceremony will be held on a level grass lawn.
Using your car to move between accommodation, the ceremony and the reception is completely fine, and vehicle access is available close to the main event areas.
Assistance animals are very welcome throughout the day.
Pets won’t be part of the ceremony or reception.
Both the ceremony and the reception will be seated, with additional seating available during cocktail hour.
There’s no expectation to stand for long periods, to mingle continuously, or to be present for every moment. Taking breaks, heading back to your accommodation, or rejoining later is all part of how the weekend is designed to work.
Parts of the day will take place outdoors. The ceremony and speeches will be amplified, though the sound will naturally feel different to an indoor venue.
There will be music during the reception. Sound will be focused around the reception space, with plenty of room to step outside onto the lawn or move away from the noise at any time.
A quiet, low-sensory space will be available on the lawn. This is a calm place to step away from activity or crowds, with fidget and stimming items available to borrow. It’s there for anyone who would like a breather during the day.
There will be no strobe lighting or planned high-intensity sensory elements.
The ceremony and formal announcements will be in English, with amplification used for the ceremony and speeches.
Where possible, written versions of readings, vows, or speech notes can be shared in advance.
Bathrooms are provided by Riverwood Downs and are designated by the venue. Please use whichever facilities feel most comfortable for you.
Dietary requirements and allergies will be catered for. You’ll be able to share your needs when you RSVP, and the full menu will be available to view in advance.
Bringing your own snacks, medications, or medical supplies is completely fine.
Early April can be warm during the day and cooler in the evening.
There will be shade and water available throughout the day. Sun protection during the daytime and a light layer for the evening are both a good idea.
In wet weather, some grassy and unsealed areas can become muddy, so footwear you’re comfortable walking in is recommended.
If the weather changes, we’ll make adjustments and keep everyone informed.
If there’s anything you’d like to check, ask about, or flag ahead of time, please reach out. Any information you share with us will be treated with care and discretion, and we’ll do our best to make the weekend feel comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable for you.
