Staying
We love that Riverwood Downs lets us bring people together for more than one evening, creating space to spend more time with the people we love.

Having the option to stay onsite means the wedding can unfold as a relaxed long-weekend away, rather than just a single night.
Staying onsite isn’t expected, but it’s something we’re really looking forward to. Being in one place gives us more time to catch up, share meals, wander down to the river, and enjoy each other’s company beyond the wedding itself.
Riverwood Downs offers a range of accommodation types, including campsites, park cabins, and boutique rooms. There are options to suit different comfort levels, group sizes, and budgets.
You’re welcome to stay for one night, two nights, the full long weekend, or to simply join us for the wedding day. There’s no single way to do it. We hope you’ll shape the weekend in whatever way feels right for you.
Riverwood Downs is holding accommodation for our guests on Friday 2 April and Saturday 3 April.
You’re very welcome to book additional nights if you’d like to make a longer stay.
To book, please contact Riverwood directly and let them know you’re attending our wedding so they can apply the accommodation being held for our group.
The held accommodation will be released on Thursday 19 March 2027. After that date, any remaining rooms will be opened to the general public, so earlier bookings will have the widest choice.
There are also some accommodation options in nearby towns. The closest are Dungog and Vacy, both around a 35–40 minute drive from Riverwood Downs, with a small number of motels, pubs, and holiday rentals available.
There are more options in Gloucester, which is closer to an hour’s drive away.
As the wedding falls over the Easter long weekend, availability in these areas may be limited.
Outside of the wedding catering, food options onsite are limited and aren’t designed to cover every meal across a long weekend.
Riverwood Downs has a licensed restaurant and bar, along with a café and garden kiosk offering takeaway food, snacks, and a small range of basic provisions. Opening times can vary, and dinner bookings are often recommended, so availability can’t be assumed for every meal.
Many accommodation options include kitchen or self-catering facilities, and there are also communal BBQ areas available on the property. Nearby towns offer additional food options within driving distance, but for most guests staying onsite, bringing groceries with you is the most straightforward way to cover your needs across the weekend.
Riverwood also allows BYO alcohol in accommodation.
For accommodation details, availability, or booking questions, Riverwood Downs is the best place to start.
If you have questions related to the wedding itself, or there’s something you’d like us to be aware of, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We’re very happy to help.
